Recorded sound originated from the desire to capture the human voice. The first recording was made in 1860, using a phonautograph. The phonautograph was the first stage evolution of the record lathe, a vintage machine that Nik and Dom use today to make vinyl records for their label 'Pearl Home Records'. Making vinyl records was the first mass production of sound recording from the start of 1900s.
