Tashkezar are a London-based Egyptian Pysch Funk group combining Egyptian 80s/90s Pop, Balkan folk, and Turkish psych funk.
Tashkezar’s second album, Ew’aa ('Watch out!’) collides Psych Guitar lines, Middle Eastern Strings and Percussion with Funk Bass and Horn Stabs, Atmospheric Synths and Alexandrian-born Mariam Ali’s soaring vocals. Building on their grounding in Mediterranean folk, Tashkez
